ASS SAVERS

In the summer of 2011, designer and avid cyclist Staffan Widelll tears out a piece of cardboard and sticks it under his saddle to get home reasonably dry. Surprised by the positive result, he decides to develop a fender concept together with a few cyclist friends. True to the tradition of Gothenburg humor, they call the project "Ass Savers." The friends are very pleased with the finished product and post a short video of the product on the Internet. The rest is the story of the fenders. The video goes viral and within 24 hours they build a simple web store. Six months later, Widelll quits his day job to focus entirely on the new venture. Today, the Ass Saver has come a long way, and the promising concept has matured into a proven, patented invention, alongside other sensational products like the FendorBendor and the Mudder. The company is run from its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden, along with co-founders Petter Danielson and Oscar Ternbom. More than a million Ass Savers have been sold, and the brand that began with a joke is now known by millions of cyclists around the world. As the first mudguard ever used by professional cyclists in the UCI World Tour, it has proven that a good idea can go a long way.
