The Surly 1x1 Singleator chain tensioner makes converting frames with vertical dropouts to a singlespeed drivetrain straightforward and uncomplicated. It mounts directly to the existing derailleur hanger and reliably compensates for excess chain slack. The main arm is made from forged aluminum, providing the necessary stability for daily use both on the road and off-road. This design also ensures quiet and efficient operation of the entire drivetrain.
To adapt to various frame geometries, the chain tensioner features a continuously adjustable chainline and a floating chainring with 11 teeth. A triple-sealed spring combined with a stainless steel bushing offers long-term protection against dirt and moisture. The system is also compatible with narrow 3/32-inch chains as well as wider 1/8-inch BMX chains.
