Izumi
The chain is the heart of a bicycle: what connects it, what drives it, what animates it. Izumi has been making chains, and only chains, for over a century. This singular focus gives Izumi an unparalleled advantage in developing new innovations and improvements in quality and performance. As a result, the world's best cyclists and the largest bicycle component manufacturers rely entirely on Izumi bicycle chains. No one knows bicycle chains like Izumi. Izumi began in 1916 as a manufacturer of high-quality bicycle chains. Over the past hundred years, bicycles have changed dramatically, from one to 12 gears, with increasingly sophisticated drive systems that require lightweight, durable and efficient chains for peak performance. At every step, Izumi continues to drive innovation in bicycle chains with advances in materials, surface treatment and design. Today, Izumi remains family-owned and produces more than 4.5 million bicycle chains annually, including the legendary Super Toughness and chains for Shimano's high-end road, mountain bike and e-bike groupsets, all manufactured entirely in Japan.
