We build all our wheels carefully by hand in our BIKE PUNK showroom in Berlin-Kreuzberg. With the help of precise tools, the wheels are spoked, centered and then pressed several times and re-centered. Thus, we can ensure maximum stability and durability. Our work steps include, among other things, the deburring of valve and spoke holes, the exact calculation of the required spoke length, oiling the spoke threads and the lacing and centering.
Here you have the opportunity to easily assemble your dream wheel online. Simply put the appropriate components (hubs, rims, spokes and nipples) in the shopping cart and then add the item "Custom Wheel Building" in the desired spoke pattern option. The following procedure applies:
Finally you can comfortably choose shipping method and payment option in the checkout area and a few weeks later your individual custom wheel is at your home or already in your bike. If we see problems with the selected configuration or have other concerns, we will contact you and coordinate this with you.
Spoilt for choice - The following options depending on the position of the wheel, the purpose of your bike or type of hubs, rims and braking system are available for you to choose from:
Front wheel options:

Radial | without crossings: Radial spoked wheels have the spokes run in a direct path from hub to rim. Radial spoked wheels look quite good and are usually a good choice for performance optimizations, as they are lighter and slightly more aerodynamic. Not every hub can be spoked radially. Due to the direct perpendicular pulling forces of the spoke on the hub flange hole, the outermost end holes could tear. This is more likely with low flange 36 hole hubs because there is less material between the hole and the outer edge.Wheels with hub or disc brakes and drive wheels should never be spoked radially. Due to the near orthogonal orientation of the spokes with respect to the hub, spoke stress will be increased with any force applied and will almost certainly result in hub or rim cracks.

1-fold crossed: 1-fold crossings usually work well with small wheels (20"), wheels with components with very few spoke holes or wheels with combinations of hubs with extremely high flanges and very high rim profiles. Similar to 2-way crossings, this can prevent the crossing points from being too close to the spoke nipples. Somewhat exotic and rather rare: But hubs or rims in common dimensions are also well suited for 1-way spoke patterns. With low crossing numbers, the wheels become somewhat lighter, as shorter spokes can be used. However, they are still more robust than purely radial spoked wheels.

2-fold crossed: The ideal choice for wheels with 28 and 24 spokes or hubs with high flanges and high profile rims. However, wheels with 32 holes are also suitable. 2-way spoked wheels are stiffer than radial or 1-way spoke patterns, lighter than 3-way crossed wheels, but slightly more susceptible to side impacts than their 3-way spoked counterparts.

3-fold crossed: 3-fold crossed wheels are best suited for very stiff, stable and robust wheels with 32 or 36 spokes. The higher number of crossings result in the spokes having to run closer to the hub tangent. This makes them more resistant to high rotational forces due to fast pedaling in low gears and also to braking forces due to rim brakes.

Snowflake - Root Spoke Pattern: Rather something for the eye. The Snowflake spoke pattern represents in principle a 3-way cross. "Historically", wheels with root spoke patterns should provide a combination of stability and comfort. The lateral stability is somewhat the same compared to a normal 3 way crossed wheel. However, the wheel with root spoke pattern reacts radially rather sluggishly, that when radial overloads occur for a short time, the much suspension effects lag behind in time. Mechanically disadvantageous with the root spoking is the resulting extreme angling of the spoke directly at the nipple. For reasons stated, we offer this type of lacing only for the front wheel. On the rear wheel, this option is disadvantageous.
Rear wheel Options:
