This expander for 1 1/8 inch shaft diameter replaces the ahead-starnut for headset clamping. By wedging the compressor in the steerer tube, a uniform clamping force is exerted on the stem from the inside. This expander is ideal for Forks with Carbon steerer tube. For carbon fork steerer tubes should always use an expander instead of an ahead starnut!
